Our Lend a Paw Giving Day is now live!

Guide Dogs Lend a Paw to their Handlers every day of the year, providing Queenslanders with life-changing independence, participation, inclusion and wellbeing. And today, you can too!

For 24 hours only, all donations to Guide Dogs Queensland will be DOUBLED by a group of generous supporters that we call our ‘Pawfect Matchers’.

This means…

$25 becomes $50

$50 transforms into $100

And $250 turns into an incredible $500!

What that all adds up to is greater independence and freedom for more Queenslanders who are living with low vision or blindness.

So don’t miss out on your chance to DOUBLE your kindness.

When you Lend a Paw, you’ll help fund key areas of training and development such as …

Food, veterinary care, specialist equipment like harnesses and leads, and expert training for the next generation of Guide Dog recruits. 🐶

Support from a Guide Dog Mobility Specialist to ‘perfectly match’ a Guide Dog and their Handler. ❤

Tailored supports such as psychology, orientation and mobility training, and occupational therapy to build essential skills.

A perfect match!

Jason was born with a sight-limiting condition that is so rare that nobody could diagnose Jason or give him a name for the condition.

Nevertheless, he built a career and ran his own businesses here in Australia and overseas. He went out a lot, meeting new people, exploring new areas and bush walking.

Jason always thought he’d be fine, but when his eyesight declined suddenly, he found himself really struggling.

“I was at a very low point and in desperate need of help. I’d pretty much lost everything and felt like there wasn’t a great deal left for me to do. But Tyson changed everything,” said Jason.

When Jason got the call to come in to Guide Dogs Queensland to meet Tyson, we could tell he was nervous but every Guide Dog we train is paired with someone they understand and get along with. And it was another perfect match!

“I’m so much more confident in everything I do because I know Tyson is there by my side. I’m ready for new adventures!”

Guide Dogs are a beacon of joy and opportunity for Queenslanders with low vision or blindness. They help people achieve more independence, participation, inclusion, and wellbeing.

Your donation can help facilitate and fund crucial training and equipment, so more Guide Dogs can graduate as a skilled operator and be matched with their Handler – just like the pups pictured here!

“With Vegas by my side, I know I can do it all. And best of all, I can do it independently. I’ve really found my freedom again.” - Sue, Guide Dog Handler
